Training Overview

Course details

Throughout your level 2 course you will study a range of core modules including;

  • Principles of anatomy & physiology (including basic exercise science)
  • Professionalism and customer care for fitness instructors, emphasising the importance of professionalism in the fitness industry
  • Health & safety in the fitness environment
  • Client consultations to support behaviour change & setting fitness goals, highlighting the role of fitness professionals in these consultations
  • Gym-based exercise programs including cardiovascular & resistance workouts, emphasising the importance of gym-based exercise sessions.

Our level 2 fitness instructor course is designed to be accessible and flexible, with options for both online and in-person study.

Course features

In terms of assessment, you will complete coursework, practical exams and multiple-choice theory exams with unlimited attempts at all assessments at no extra cost! Our online gym instructor course allows you to complete both theoretical and practical assessments remotely, providing flexibility to accommodate your personal and professional commitments.

Once complete, whilst the exam board are certifying your achievement, you will benefit from free career guidance as well as becoming eligible to progress onto our L3 personal trainer course. Once certified, you can then join CIMSPA and then you may wish to pursue other qualifications such as group fitness / group training, pilates, first aid / CPR etc. As part of your continuing-education you will also receive 20 free CPD units including: tri-planar kettlebells, suspension training, online PT, power clubs, rig training, obesity myths, *fuelling exercise and more!

Career Development

Completing this course provides the necessary qualifications and skills to work in a local gym or health club as a fitness instructor. The level 2 Gym Instructing qualification provides progression onto the level 3 Personal Trainer course.
