Course details

Key learning outcomes

  • Knowledge of both the theory and practice of pool water treatment
  • An understanding of the design and operation of their own pool plant including: the circulation, filtration, disinfection, pH correction and heating of pool water
  • An understanding of the principles of testing pool water and the ability to interpret water testing results and the actions required to restore ideal conditions
  • An understanding of how to maintain water that is safe and pleasant to swim in
  • An appreciation of the technical requirements for ensuring safe and efficient operation of pool plant

Course features

All candidates receive a full colour course manual in PDF form.

The course is assessed by completion of an end of course work- based assignment.

Candidates who successfully complete the programme could progress on to the JTL Level 3 Pool Plant Operator Certificate course.

The course is assessed by the completion of multiple-choice quizzes for each of the three units, and one final multiple choice quiz at the end.

Certification is available immediately on completion of the course.

Prerequisites - what's required to participate?

You must be 18 years of age or above on the first day of the course.

Career Development

This will enable to learner to continue working in a pool plant environment whilst fully complying with the training recommendations of HSG179 and the CIMSPA occupational standards for pool plant operators.
