By becoming a Parkinson's Pro learners will unlock the skills to effectively support individuals with Parkinson’s through exercise. This 6 hour live, online course equips exercise and healthcare professionals with the knowledge and tools to deliver Parkinson’s-specific exercise, grounded in the latest scientific and medical guidelines. Learners will learn the recommended exercise doses, key elements that tailor exercises to Parkinson's, and practical tips for leading group or one-on-one sessions. Whether learners are working with beginners or experienced clients, this course will empower them to make a meaningful impact on clients' symptoms and disease progression.

Reach Your Peak is an online exercise community for people with Parkinson's. Founded by two specialist physiotherapists it provides evidence based exercise programmes, education and expert advice to ensure clients can use exercise to treat their Parkinson's and live their lives to the full. Reach Your Peak is passionate about delivering high quality online content and improving the quality of face to face exercise for Parkinson's by educating exercise and healthcare professionals.

  • The latest evidence-based recommendations for exercise in Parkinson’s treatment
  • Specific types, intensities, and frequencies of exercises that make the biggest difference for people living with Parkinson’s
  • The elements that transform general exercise into Parkinson’s-specific workouts, ensuring you’re equipped to tailor sessions that target mobility, strength, and balance effectively

Module 3: Exercise for Life

  • Understanding the unique barriers to exercise for people with Parkinson’s
  • How to understand and overcome them
  • Motivational and physical limitations and the practical considerations in session planning
  • How to design inclusive and adaptive programmes
  • When and how to refer clients to other healthcare professionals and specialists
  • This module ensures you’re prepared to provide long-term, impactful support and guidance to your clients as they navigate their exercise journey.

Prerequisites - what's required to participate?

A Level 3 Fitness Professional qualification.
